The ATP has always been quite reluctant to form any official partnerships with brands related to sports betting, but now there’s a new agreement with Sportradar called “The Future of Betting”, which might change things.
This exciting partnership will “focus on driving commercial growth for the sport and enhancing fan engagement opportunities for the downstream market through the development of new betting and media products.”
Basically, ATP now realises that tennis betting is not going away, it’s part of the sport and is now planning a better future for it.
We all know that sports betting lead to addiction and bad behavior in many ways. Not at least in tennis where it’s quite common that bettors lose money and end up harassing the players on various social media channels. Well, wagering on matches is not going away so it’s better to deal with the situation. Important, it also adds nice sponsorship money to tournaments and tennis players.
What is this partnership?
Sports technology company Sportradar will get global data and streaming rights for betting and media data for the whole ATP tour and Challenger Tour. This will make it possible for them to create new opportunites when it comes to media products and various kind of betting products.
For now there isn’t much concrete information on what this will lead to exactly but it surely will lead to new ways of interacting with tennis games and of course, bet on them.
We’ll keep an eye on this development in the future, until then we give you the best tennis betting sites available globally, to enjoy betting on tennis.
